“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

(Colossians 3:17)

Reflection:

To say that Jesus is Lord is to acknowledge and commit ourselves to a lifetime of ministry. There is no exception to this commitment. Jesus made it quite clear in the Great Commission and when He prayed to the Father and also later said,

  • “As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.” (John 17:18)
  • “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21)

 We are all called into ministry, equipped for ministry and empowered for ministry. That does not mean that we are all called into the same type of ministry. There are many different vocations –teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, engineers, bus drivers, sales people, scientists, plumbers…
